All Cookie Clicker Buildings

Buildings are the engine of your bakery. There are 19 of them, from the humble Cursor to the planet-sized Cortex baker, and each one bakes cookies for you every second. Here is what each building costs, how much it produces and how to decide what to buy next.

Building list with prices and production

The table shows the base price of the first copy of each building and its base production in cookies per second (CpS), before any upgrades. Upgrades, milk, prestige and buffs multiply these numbers many times over.

How building prices grow

Each time you buy a building, the next one costs 15% more. In other words, the price of a building is its base price multiplied by 1.15 for every copy you already own. Your 10th Farm costs about three and a half times as much as the first, and your 50th costs almost a thousand times more.

You can sell buildings, but you only get back 25% of the current price, so selling is rarely worth it except for special strategies.

Because of this curve, a fresh building type is often a better deal than piling up more of an old one, even when its price tag looks huge. Judge every purchase by how long it takes to pay for itself.

Which building should I buy next?

Hover over a building in the store to see how many cookies per second each copy currently produces. Divide the price by that number to get its payback time in seconds; the building with the lowest payback is usually the best buy.

  • Early game: Cursors and Grandmas, then each new building as soon as it is reasonably priced.
  • Milestones: owning 1, 5, 25, 50, 100, 150 and every further 50 of a building unlocks an upgrade that doubles it. Pushing to the next milestone is often the best move.
  • Cursors: a special line of finger upgrades makes each Cursor earn extra cookies for every other building you own, so Cursors stay useful all game long.
  • Grandmas: each building has a matching grandma upgrade that makes grandmas twice as efficient and lets that building gain production from your grandmas.

Building levels and minigames

Once you unlock sugar lumps, you can spend them to level up buildings. Each level gives that building +1% production. Raising four specific buildings to level 1 also unlocks a minigame:

  • Farm opens the Garden.
  • Bank opens the Stock Market.
  • Temple opens the Pantheon.
  • Wizard tower opens the Grimoire.

Questions and answers

How many buildings are there in Cookie Clicker?

There are 19 buildings in this version, from the Cursor (15 cookies) to the Cortex baker (1.9 septillion cookies).

How much does each building's price increase?

Every purchase makes the next copy of that building 15% more expensive.

What is the best building in Cookie Clicker?

There is no single best building. The best buy is the one with the shortest payback time, which is its price divided by the cookies per second it adds.

Can I sell buildings?

Yes, but you only get back 25% of the current price, so it is usually not worth it.
